Do You Believe in Miracles? (Or Was That Just Good Timing?)

So… do you believe in miracles? I’m not talking about your DoorDash actually arriving on time or finding a parking spot right in front of Target (although let’s be real, those do feel miraculous). I mean the big stuff: the “there’s no way science can explain that” kind of moments that make you stop, gasp, and maybe question everything you thought you knew about the universe.

Miracles have fascinated people for centuries—whether it was ancient gods getting credit for supernatural events, or today’s viral news stories about impossible survival tales. Some folks see divine intervention, others see “just coincidence.” Personally? I think the line between the two is a whole lot blurrier than we give it credit for.

My First Miracle (Yes, This Really Happened)

I know miracles are real because I’ve lived one—actually, more than one. My very first miracle happened when I was just two years old.

Picture this: I was a stubborn little toddler (shocking, I know) who decided I didn’t want sheets on my bed, so I ripped them off. I also took the lampshade off my bedside lamp because, apparently, I was already a rebel decorator at age two. While I slept, I somehow knocked that lamp over. The hot bulb landed on my mattress and—yep—you guessed it: my bed caught fire.

I woke up literally surrounded by flames. There was nowhere to go, no way out. And then it happened. Two hands—gentle, strong, and completely unfazed by the fire—lifted me up, carried me through the flames, and set me down in a safe spot in the room.

When firefighters arrived, they found me sitting calmly with not a single burn. No smoke damage in my lungs. Nothing. No one could explain how I made it off that burning mattress alive, let alone without a scratch. To this day, I know in my heart: that was divine intervention. That was a miracle.

What the Heck Is a Miracle Anyway?

Here’s the thing: miracles are hard to define. Some people say it’s an extraordinary event that defies science. Others say it’s just luck dressed up in a fancy outfit. Me? I think miracles are like the universe’s inside jokes—a cosmic wink, a little nudge saying, “Hey, I see you.”

  • To some, it’s a literal sign from above.

  • To others, it’s a streak of good fortune.

  • And for the skeptics, it’s just coincidence (a word that, let’s be honest, feels like science’s way of saying, “We don’t know, but we don’t want to admit we don’t know”).

Whether it’s big and dramatic or tiny and personal, miracles pull us out of autopilot. They remind us life is weird, wild, and maybe—just maybe—more magical than we think.

Miracles Through the Ages (AKA, The Greatest Hits)

History is packed with “you can’t make this stuff up” miracle stories. The Red Sea allegedly split like it was auditioning for America’s Got Talent. Jesus turned water into wine (if that happened at my wedding, I’d call it the miracle of miracles). St. Paul had his “knocked off a horse and changed his life” moment. And of course, apparitions of Mary showing up throughout time like the ultimate divine guest star.

Were they supernatural? Were they misunderstood natural phenomena? Or were they just the most epic “you had to be there” moments of all time? Doesn’t matter—what’s important is the awe they sparked. And awe, my friend, is the real magic.

Miracles vs. Science: The Eternal Smackdown

Here’s where it gets fun: science has been trying to sneak into the miracle party for years. Doctors studying “miraculous healings” sometimes find sneaky explanations—like hidden health conditions suddenly correcting themselves or environmental factors that mimicked the miraculous.

But here’s the kicker: even when science explains the how, it doesn’t always explain the why now? why this person? why this exact moment? That mystery? That’s miracle territory.

Everyday Miracles (Spoiler: They’re Everywhere)

Not all miracles come with thunderbolts and choirs of angels. Sometimes, it’s smaller:

  • Your kid finally sleeping through the night.

  • A stranger paying for your coffee.

  • Someone holding the elevator when you’re already running late.

These tiny “miracle moments” don’t make headlines, but they can shift your whole mood, even your whole day. And honestly? Sometimes the little miracles are the ones that matter most.

So, Do You Believe?

I’ve had memories of the spiritual world since birth—even my first year of life is clear to me. That fire wasn’t just an accident with a happy ending—it was a divine reminder that my angels were with me, protecting me, and showing up in the most undeniable way.

That miracle planted a seed in me: a knowing that the spiritual world is real, that angels are active, and that we are never as alone as we think we are. It shaped the way I see life, death, connection, and the work I do today.

So I’ll leave you with this: What’s the last miracle you experienced? Was it big, like surviving something that made no sense? Or small, like finding $20 in a coat pocket you forgot about?

Either way—miracles are real. The question isn’t whether they exist. It’s whether you’re paying attention.
