Have you ever stopped mid-scroll, mid-coffee, or mid-breakdown and thought: “Wow, I wonder what my ancestors would think of me right now? ”Yeah… me too. And honestly, I don’t know if they’d be impressed or shaking their heads like, “This one didn’t get the gardening gene, did she?”

But here’s the thing: our ancestors aren’t just dusty black-and-white photos hanging in the hallway. They’re the OG influencers. They paved the way, left us clues, and whisper wisdom through our DNA (and sometimes through really weird family stories that involve chickens, wars, or homemade moonshine).

Defining Your Spiritualism Without Needing a Label Maker

Spirituality is not one-size-fits-all, thank God (or Spirit, or Universe, or Beyoncé—whoever you vibe with). Some people find peace in religion, some in crystals, and others in Netflix binges that feel suspiciously like meditations in disguise.

For me, spirituality isn’t about lighting 42 candles and chanting under a full moon (though, hey, I’ve done it). It’s about connecting with nature, practicing mindfulness, and trying to live with intention and kindness… even when Karen cuts me off in traffic. It’s the small stuff—like being grateful I woke up today, or that my coffee didn’t spill on my white shirt. That’s my version of holy.

Lessons From the Ancestors

Our ancestors lived without DoorDash, Google, or therapy podcasts—and they still managed to leave us wisdom that applies today. Pretty impressive, right? Their lives remind us that resilience runs in our veins. Whether your great-great-grandmother was a healer, a farmer, or just the world’s best pie-maker, her strength and stories ripple through you.

And if you don’t know much about your ancestors? Start with your family stories—or dig into your roots. (Warning: you might discover that your people were not royalty but potato farmers. Still wise, though.)

Universal Energies & The Other Realms (Cue the Woo-Woo Music 🎶)

Life gets chaotic, and sometimes we crave something bigger than the noise. That’s where tuning into universal energies comes in. Whether you believe in angels, guides, or just “good vibes,” there’s something powerful about connecting beyond the physical world. Personally, when I quiet down enough to listen, I get downloads of wisdom that are basically like spirit emails… minus the spam folder.

Meditation: The Reset Button You Didn’t Know You Needed

Meditation doesn’t mean sitting like a monk on a mountain while chanting “Om” (unless that’s your thing). It can be as simple as closing your eyes, breathing, and pretending you don’t hear your kids fighting in the other room. It’s a tool that helps me check in with myself and not lose my marbles in the chaos of life. Think of it as the world’s cheapest therapy.

Protecting Your Energy (a.k.a. Boundaries Are Sexy)

You can’t pour from an empty cup, and honestly, you shouldn’t even try—unless you like being cranky and resentful. Learning to say “no” (without 17 apologies attached) has been one of my biggest spiritual lessons. Protecting your energy isn’t selfish—it’s survival. And your ancestors would 100% back you up on that.

Remember: Your Ripple Matters

Here’s the mic-drop moment: everything we do affects others. Every kind word, every eye roll, every little action sends ripples outward. When we honor our ancestors, practice mindfulness, and walk through life with intention, we’re not just shaping our own path—we’re shaping the world.

So, next time you feel disconnected, take a breath and ask yourself: What wisdom are my ancestors trying to pass down right now?Maybe it’s patience. Maybe it’s courage. Or maybe… it’s just a reminder to finally call your mom back.

✨ Over to you: What’s one lesson or quirky piece of wisdom your ancestors passed down that still sticks with you today?
